[It is still so... He is here. Here. And there still is the guilt that flickers through her, because what ifs worm through her mind. She's gone through most of them over the years anyway in those quiet times, before bed and waking up.
But, their talk on his arrival and his words still ghost through her.]
Aside from the buffet at the housing... I've got some backing since I was vouched for with my job. Won't risk any place in the Up, but there are a few in the Down. Cafe Leblanc?
[ North had given some thought to his and York's last conversation, and decided after a bit to drop by and see what they could work out in discussion now. It was important for both of them to make sure there were no assumtions being made. He knew it was a bit late when he came, but York was, in his experience, more of a night owl than North himself was. It should be fine.
[She'd probably still tear Sharkface's head off his body if she ran into him, but she hadn't tried to track him down... That was York's doing. Coming after her was one thing, but coming after any of the others? That's something else completely.
The knock had her attention turning to the door, back to York who's still asleep, and back to the door again. ... who? But she doubted Sharkface would be knocking if he was coming back to finish the job, so Carolina slowly started to slide and wiggle herself free. Seeking to put a pillow in place of where she had been, she was trying not to wake him up as she squirmed out to get the door.
Foot bracing against the bottom of the door, she did slowly open it a crack.]
[North. She may not have heard his voice for some time since her arrival here, but she does still recognize it. The door cracks open a little wider as Carolina steps back to give him room. Although she does still glance behind and around him, just in case.]
Not certain about what, but York's sleeping on the couch.
[Or he had been when Carolina had slipped and slithered and twisted his head off of her lap.]
[ North knows he has nothing to worry about, and this isn't a confession he's intending to give. He just needs York to know. The day after the festival, he comes to York's place and gives a little knock. After that he slips inside. That's what York always does with him, so he knows it's okay.
When he finds York he comes alongside him. ]
Hey, so, I know you won't have a problem with it, considering everything, but I wanted you to know. I had sex with Carolina during the festival.
[ York is attempting to cook, but the shitty burners on the apartment stove keep going out on him. He flashes North a smile when the other man approaches... then blinks at the information he's being given for a moment before laughing. ]
You're wrong, I have a huge problem with it: that I wasn't invited.
[ He may or may not have had that dream before... ]
[ York waggles his eyebrows comically, giving up on the stove and stepping closer to North instead. He reaches up and drapes his arms over the other man's shoulders, fingers knitted behind North's head. ]
[ She spends the night and following morning after the festival flopped in bed, letting her head clear. When she finally gets up, she groans dramatically to herself and texts York, invites him to swing by the tower to see her, if he wants. She only waits long enough to confirm he's coming before hopping into the shower to get one in whilst waiting for him to make his way up.
When she answers the door to let him in she's obviously dressed, but her hair's still wet. ]
Hey, York. Want anything to like, eat or drink or something?
[ She remembers the Down housing food kinda sucks ass. ]

Whatcha got? Ooh, can we get takeout? I'll give you the cash, it's just hard to get any place to serve an uncontracted sub.

[ She snort laughs, closing the door behind him. ]
Yeah, yeah, we can get takeout, and you don't have to worry about the cash. Actual takeout or room service?
